One Friday afternoon in June, it was raining so badly we were talking about cancelling.
\nJust five minutes before I arrived at Rabo stable outside of V\u00e4ster\u00e5s, I had been moving at a snail’s pace on the highway because the rain was pouring down and I couldn’t see the road because the wipers couldn’t keep up. But just when I arrived, it stopped raining and this amazing sunset appeared.<\/p>\n
Madeleine & Mattias were inside the stable, preparing to head out with the horses, for what I call an About You-session<\/em>.\u00a0After the horse ride, we went to the small cottage that they had just moved in to, across the fields from the stable.<\/p>\n I have done many portrait sessions this year, but an About You-session is a bit more than that. It is a\u00a0photography session all about you, in a more documentary style. It makes you more relaxed in front of the camera, because your attention is on what you are doing and with whom, instead of the camera. When I told Madeleine about the idea, she knew straight away what they wanted to do. As life in the stables and sharing that small cottage is central to what they enjoy together.\u00a0We had amazing luck with the weather and you can tell they really had a good time.<\/p>\n So, thank you Madeleine & Mattias for a great session, this was all About You<\/em>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\nThe idea is to do whatever it is you do together that you enjoy. A walk along your favourite trail, an adventure you have been talking about, but for some reason been putting off. Or as in this case, going out on a horse ride together.\u00a0It doesn’t have to be fancy or demand weeks of planning, what matters is that it means something to you. After all, these sessions are not called about<\/em> them<\/em>.<\/p>\n
