In the fall of 2012, Maria inherited a piece of forest area outside Vallsta in Hälsingland just next to where she grew up.
As Maria & Johan came up to visit later that fall, they took the car up and went in to the woods to pick mushrooms. There in the middle of the forest, among pines and conifers, Johan went down on his knee and popped the question.
As I have already published the wedding in August this year (I’m trying to catch up), you already know how she answered the question.
A few days before the wedding, we all went up there, to that same place where Johan asked her to marry him, and in a ceremonial-style event, they marked that place for days to come as a memory where it all happened.
Not everyone get to have their own piece of land, and few probably have a sign on the place they got engaged. These two have both.
These are the photos from the event. Be sure to hit play on the music and take a look at these two great people.

wonderful story! you captured this perfectly for them – so simple and natural. don’t know why but my favorite is the super close up shot, with her beautiful eye looking straight into the lens. a unique and memorable session!
There is a detail of her eye and his beard. Loving that shot. What a beautiful story from start to finish. Draws you in.
these are SO wonderful! that super tight close up of his chin and her eye has me mesmerized.
