Midsommarkransen is a neighbourhood in south of Stockholm almost all of it built in the 40’s to provide living quarters for workers in the city, because of this, it has a coherent feel to it. And many of the places has been kept intact through the years. Today it is becoming one of the trendiest places to live outside of the inner city.
What I didn’t know when we decided to shoot in this place was that Fredriks family all live in this area. His grandmother grew up in the café were we had a coffee afterwards, his parents met and got married in this area and went to the same cinema we walked past. That is something you rarely can say these days when more than half of the people living in this city move here from somewhere else.
